A split-queen, also known as a queen-zip, is essentially a queen size mattress split in half. The two halves are connected by a seam down the middle that can be separated as desired. Split-queen beds produce less motion transfer, so if one person tends to toss and turn, they’ll be less likely to disturb the other. It’s much easier to move house with a split-queen, because you can separate the two halves of the bed to fit through doors and down stairwells more easily.
